Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight DT card - Glitter & Sparkles for the Video inspiration from week #1

Welcome to our Spotlight challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers where our specialty is
 Glitter & Sparkles.

Some of us are using the challenge from week #1 for our inspiration this week.
Week #1 is a video inspiration for the following video:

When you click the link, you should be redirected to the You Tube video "Bad Romance by Lady GaGa".
If not, then I messed up royally & inserted the wrong link...........so quickly, go find it now!
And let it inspire you as it did to me considering this was my first time watching it.

I personally had never done a video inspiration challenge before so this was REALLLLYYY Fun.

First of all I'll let you know that our spotlight challenges DOES have a bit of candy to be won , & if you play your cards right you could win week #1's prize (Mrs. Susie Sugars prize) & this candy bag.

Secondly, let me explain how:

1. Make a card for the video inspiration challenge- enter it into week #1's linky
2. Make a card with glitter & sparkle for this spotlight challenge- enter it into week #2's linky
3. Make a card with glitter & sparkle BASED ON the video(as I did)- enter it into BOTH week's linkies.

I took the colors & textures from the video & I ran with it!
It's about a Bad Romance, hey , so what's romance without a heart?

And the mesh netting, sparkles, metal charm, red ribbon, crocheted flower, silver half doily & red & black bling all resemble different aspects of the video!

Fire, lace, fur & wicked outfits set this video apart from any other's I've ever seen.

Do u get what's going on here.................
It'll make sense as you scroll down.
Flowers, stems, more mesh, more lace, more bling & a bit of heat embossed elements on the black base

The sentiment that says it all
"The world is but a canvas to the imagination" (from Sentimental Sundays)

So come on over to Crafty Cardmakers & get in on all the action!!

Post 1 of 2= Fussy & Fancy DT card- Back to school

So many wonderful interpretations of Mindy's sketch for the past 2 weeks at the Fussy & Fancy Challenge Blog, I think you all hooked me on circle cards for sure.
Now for this weeks challenge, since school IS just around the corner, and some students have ALREADY started back--our theme is:

BACK TO SCHOOL

And our spnosor is the wonderful Stitchy from Stitchy Stamps who has given us some fun images to use!

I am using the image "Whatever"........primarily cuz this is what my daughter says all the time "Whateva MOM!! " lol..........god love her.
I colored her with my watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps & instead of a card, I opted to make a little book for my daughter to take to school.
I had a bunch of school paper from a paper pack I bought AGES ago, so thought it would make the perfect papers for a little notebook. I also added school theme stickers to my project. AGAIN, stickers I've had for a coon's age!!! Her initials are HS, thus the metal letters on the front of the book. A buncha eyelets & ribbon reminants made the perfect binding.

Back of the book.

It's already in her back pack & school does not start until Sept 8th (here in Pine Falls, Manitoba, Canada).

Come check out the other DT's fabulous creations at Fussy & Fancy for the next couple weeks. You won't be disappointed.

Challenges for my card:
ABC Challenge- B for Blue
Dare U 2 Digistamp- shaped card/creation (book count?)
Shirley's 2 Girlz- schooltime with letters/alphabets
Little Red Wagon- back to school
Paper Pretties- back to school
Simple Doodles- back to school
CSAYL- anything but Christmas (anything goes)
Stamp Something- back to school

Look at what she has got for YOU!!

You should be redirected to the "Lady Gaga Video- Bad Romance".

I personally had NEVER done a video inspiration challenge before so for me this was SUPA FUN!

Creative Inspirations DT- Christmas in August

Well, it's the boss's time to pick the challenge at Creative Inspirations for the next two weeks & Jude has chosen Christmas in August!

This challenge is being sponsored by WOJ and they are offering up a stamp to the winner.
Remember a winner is randomly picked when we have over 100 entrants!!!

I tried to keep this card fairly CAS which was definitely a struggle for me. I avoided the extra leaves on the flower & kept the bling WAY down.
I used an image I thought was WOJ at first, but was set straight by a fellow team-mate. Thank you!
This is a Sugar Nellie image & although it is not a Christmas image per say, it gives me the feel of a warm Christmas morning.

The DP is double sided with the two colors you see here. I added some stitching, pearls & a heat embossed sentiment!

Merry Christmas to you all (in August) .

We hope to see you over at Creative Inspirations where you can get some more inspiration from the other DT members cards!!! Come check it out!

Challenges for my card:
 Creative Cottage- Christmas
A Spoon Full of Sugar- Christmas in August
Pollycraft Monday - in stitches
Fun with Shapes & More- Dots, swirls, flowers & text
Sew Many Challenges- Christmas in August
Simple Doodles- let's celebrate (Christmas)

Don't forget to get in on my candy until Sept. 26 !

Fairy Fun Friday- DT - Punch It !!

This week at FFF we are asking you to use your punches.

NOT DIE CUTS!!!

I have tried to incorporate a few different punches into my card.
I used my border punch on the back pink paper, my Fiskars corner punch on the papers behind Helen- DH found this punch for me at Micheals (it is a 3 in 1), my SU tag punch for the sentiment, & my SU butterfly punch for the butterflies of course!

I have used the image Helen the Hippo from Prairie Fairy Designs. She comes with her hubby Norm - both of which are created after the Prairie Fairy Queens parents. They are also know as "Grandma & Grandpa 'cross the street" [to my kids]n as they live, literally, across the street.

I colored Helen with watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps.
I added some blingy ribbon sporadically to the card with a little ruffle at the bottom left side & I added stickles to the paper edge. A pearl on her crown and a pin in the flower finish off my card for any occassion!

Come on down and punch it up a notch at FFF this week. Take a look at the DT members inspiration & use it for a chance to win some Prairie Fairy images for yourself!

Challenges for my card:
Flutterby Wednesday- sparkle, DP & 3 gems (pearls ok?)
Aud Sentiments- anything goes
Creative Card Crew- sparkle & shine
The Pink Elephant- ribbons & sparkles
Stamp Something- use a digital image
Pixie Dust Studio- go crazy with polkadots

Don't forget my candy until Sept. 26!!

And don't forget about the Fussy & Fancy Sketch Challenge going on for one more week!

Pictures

Thought I'd share some pictures of my wknd away at my sisters' wedding.
First of all, we'll start with our pedicures (& my daughters manicure). We got the same design yup we did. My foot on the left, my daughters on the right. Almost the same size, I KNOW, CRAZY!!!

This is my daughter all dressed up in her flower girl outfit! When I first saw her at the hotel, she was on the balcony all dressed up looking down at me when she said "hi mom".....I swear to god she looked like Cinderella! She was absolutely stunning & glowing in her outfit! Definitely brought tears to my eyes.

Me & my baby..............ok, not REALLY baby, but she is still my little girl!

And here we have a picture of my mom and her 8 grandchildren. Not very often you can get them all together. The two boys in the blue shirts are my brother's kids, the boys in the tuxedos & the teenage girl in the back with her hair pulled back are my SISTER's kids & my 3 children are the baby, boy being held in the back and girl in the white dress! What a proud Nanny!

My brother getting pinned. I tried for 20 mins to pin this on & failed, so I passed it onto the next passerby!

The happy couple. My sister and her DH!!

Hopefully after I recover from laundry, cleaning & catching up on sleep, I'll be able to sit down and make a card. Withdrawal much!! lol

Take Care.

AND STAY TUNED FOR CANDY COMING SOON!

My family.

DH- Curtis, holding Reade (3 yrs next month), Me (Corry) holding Merik (5 months) & Hannah (9 yrs).
