SHUT UP!!! NEW DT & CARD

LITERALLY- These were the words I spat out (on my keyboard whilst typing) when Kellie Winnell asked me if I wanted to be a Pink Lady for the next 6 months!
She laughed. I laughed. OMG I actually almost peed my pants, but that's neither here nor there.
I'm so TICKLED PINK to be on this team with all these amazingly talented girlz!

Photobucket

In case you are not familiar with Kellie, she is the owner/operater/mastermind behind Tickled Pink Stamps
A bit of history:

"Tickled Pink Stamps first started out as Magnolia Down Under in 2009, but in April 2010 Magnolia Down Under was taken over to Tickled Pink Stamps and supplied a larger range of stamps. What was the reason for this? I am Kellie the owner and founder of Tickled Pink Stamps and when I first started stamping I fell for anything and everything Magnolia, I had to have them. While I still share the same love for them to this day, I started to see more amazing stamps by talented designers world wide and I just had to share them around Australia and this is how Tickled Pink Stamps was born, aiming to be Australia's No. 1 Stamp supplier of all things cute and Tickled Pink.... Tickled Pink Stamps now has their VERY own range of cute and They are a tad different from the normal cute but we all LOVE to be different and stand out, and these amazing designs will make any creation GORGEOUS!"
Tickled Pink Stamps is home of the fabulous Lil Lolita and Lil Lad Ranges (as well as the all new line of Pinkettes). You can see all the newest products available by clicking the Tickled Pink Stamps blogs listed below!

I also used some metal embellies from my busted up spellbinder nestie.......it is now my 'spare parts'. lol.....a coupla flower stickers on the purple ribbon & a string of ribbon roses on the bottom (from Suzi), max me out with fleurs! Hope you like!

The inside has a sentiment stamped that says 'imagine'!

A few ODD things

I have been sooooooooooooo MIA lately......this is what summer is all about I guess.{ Also this is what happens when I don't have a buncha creations stockpiled for posting daily....heehee. }
I worked two 12 hr days, Thurs & Fri, then went to the big city on Saturday to see CARS 2 with my 3 yr old (& truth be told it was still action packed but a bit difficult to follow for me, never mind my son) . Came home, had supper & finally got to sit down & start this creation & also had a chance to visit with hubby (after not actually seeing him for 2 days straight). He runs his own business & needless to say, he was busy running like a mad man!
Then today (Sunday) left me waking up at 5:30 am with my 15 month old, then my 5 yr old shih-tzu escaped from our back yard........Missing for about a half an hour before anyone noticed. OMG was this a traumatic experience! There were tears of sadness when we thought she was gone for good (after an hour of searching the town high & low) & tears of happiness when she was found. Thanks to Roberta & her son & our other two sets of neighbors who gave a concentrated effort in looking for her! We owe you our lives! I was so emotionally drained, it hurt.

**********************************

Speaking of Roberta, aka: The Prairie Fairy (of Prairie Fairy Designs) - aside from being my BFF & shoulder to cry on (such as the above instance) she is a multi-talented artist who enjoys dabbling in many different styles & mediums & as such she has a bit of candy on her ART BLOG........if you are interested in winning this magnificent canvas painting, pop on over to her ART BLOG to leave your name!

***********************************

As for my creation......this is a commissioned card for a girl at work, who asked for an extra special baby shower card for her maid of honor's new baby. First image that popped into my mind was this adorable digi stamp called Tiny Baby from Some Odd Girl, who BTW are having a DT call until July 17. This is another one of those teams that I would LOVE to be on...........we'll see how the crossing of my fingers & toes works out!

This butterfly punch & little bottle (Tim Holtz set of 10 or so in different sizes- empty) I bought on Saturday at Micheals with the help of a 40% off coupon  & 15% off entire purchase coupon, including sale items. Ahh!! Gotta love those dealeos!

I know you can't see it but behind the acetate sentiment I embossed the white paper with baby feet & hand prints. Hope she likes it.

A Spoon Full of Sugar- ribbons & bows
Crafty Calendar- things with wings

Simply Create- fly with us

Edwin as a teacher gift & an award

Welcome to another day here at my blog.
How is the weather where you are?
We are struggling to get some sun now that it is officially 'summer'.  If only it would stop raining!
Today (Wednesday June 22 ) is my 3 yr olds last day of pre-school, so I whipped up this little creation for one of his teachers, on Monday. Cuttin' it close much!?
This is the first time I have ever made a tealight candle card & I had to google it to find some YouTube videos & Voila!
I used some papers that I recently bought where I work. You see we have little book clubs that come to the hospital & leave stuff for either "pay & takes" or " to order from". This school paper pad was a "pay & take"  (& yes even though I grounded myself, I could not pass this up) lol.
I have used my Edwin with an Egg Basket & put apples in the basket & one in his hand. Teacher......apples.....see where I'm going with this! LOL
I am TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS EDWIN!
He can be used for anything.
At Easter I put flowers in the basket!
Perhaps some snow balls at Christmas!?!?!
SO versatile. For sure my best purchase to date!

These letter blocks are a funny story, first off because the N's are actually Z's....cuz I got no more N's & secondly because the name says Mr. Nancy. When my son first started preschool he came home & told me his teachers names were Mr. Nancy & Mr. Janet! I laughed so hard I cried!

I added a wee apple charm at the top of the tag with some suede ribbon to pull it out with.
Acetate was stamped on with Staz-On ink with one of my CTMH stamp sets.

The faux stitching around the tag was inspired by Lou who recently 'lost her sewing machine'. RIP. I never think to do cute little faux stitches like this...............& although I'm sure many of you have used this same technique before, it was Lou Mac that pushed me over the edge! LOL
Yup the tag was also in the school paper pad purchase, I just added lined paper to it!
This & another wee gift should get those teacher smilin'!

***************************************************

Now onto my sweet blog award given to me by the sweet, sweet Margreet!
Mwah! Thanks m'lady!

Totally Tilda DT- Tilda Where?!?!?!

On Anything But a Card!

That's right at Totally Tilda this fortnight, this is what we want!
Now if you're like me, your immediate first thought is UHH!! NOT a Card! As IF>!>!>
Then the shock will wear off & you too will be able to create something fun, as I have.
I started with these chipboard letters that spell LOVE from Susie Sugar's Die Cut Dreams Store.
What to do with them once I had them?
Then I remembered my friends wedding back in 2009, that I had yet to scrapbook.
A summer wedding with sunflowers & the colors of gold/yellow, brown, black & green as the focus.
Then I made a trip to Micheals in search of the perfect papers & embellies to match.
Then I came home after almost purchasing a sunflower stamp for $17.00 and asked a friend to whip me up a digi...........more about that later!
The result:

Let me tell you a story about this letter "E" page!
You know how we crafters get into a zone that nobody can mess with? Well, there I was happily creating my "E" page, when hubby decides he is going to join me at the table. He pulls out his laptop (I betcha thought I was gonna say something else huh?)......and opens it up pushing past some sort of OBVIOUS obstruction.....thereby spilling a can of pop all over the table.......dining room table yes, however at this point in the day it is officially my craft table. I look, do a double take & as he stands there staring......I proceed to curse like a sailor & throw everything off the table onto the floor, just to get it out of the liquid that is soaking into everything. F, F, F ......that's how the conversation went!! I don't think I talked to him for the rest of the night....I went to bed & arose with a fresh outlook the next morning.....thereby creating an EVEN BETTER letter "E" than the day before! Thanks honey! (he still loves me, I think). lol

Large stem with leaves & accents below Tilda's sunflower- gift from Dora (I ended up sponging the already pastel green stem with mellow moss SU ink to match the rest of the greens)

A profile view of the completed "LOVE" Chipboard Book!

Finally I have it all packaged up & ready to go to my friend........now there's a postal strike! LOL Hopefully one day she will get to see what I've done with pics of her wedding day!

Fairy Fun Friday DT- Wedding Inspired

The theme this fortnight at Fairy Fun Fridays  is  to be inspired by a

WEDDING.

Don't you need any wedding cards, or invitations or gift ideas for upcoming weddings this summer (well it's almost full blown summer here in Manitoba, Canada anyways) aside form all the damn RAIN!

I have chosen the image Hang In There . This image was created by the Prairie Princess (daughter of the Prairie Fairy [Roberta])  & is available at the  Prairie Fairy Designs store.
I have gone for a shabby chic meets vintage type wedding card creation. I highlighted the dress with a bit of grey then covered it with prisma glitter after adding my lace and gems to the bodice.
The chipboard birdcage I painted with Crackle Paint for a distressed look.
The dble heart charm is from Bizzy Becs & the posh pins are a gift from the Prairie Fairy herself. Mwah! Thanks dear!
The brown satin ribbon & touch of seam binding for the bow are from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

Head on over to the  FFF challenge  blog for some more Wedding ideas & get your entry in!!

Challenges for my card:
Simon Says Stamp & Show- torn, distressed edges
Creative Inspirations- blue, green & 1 other (brown)
Die Cuttin Divas- wedding bliss
Cute Card Thursday- your birthstone (May=emerald)
Paper Sundaes- girly girl
Crafts & Me- bling it on

Black, White & ......can u guess?

"" Merry Christmas to all & to all a Good Nite!! ""
I'm a GDT for the Christmas Stampin All Year Long (CSAYL) blog this week & the challenge over there is to :

USE BLACK, WHITE & ONE OTHER COLOR.

I chose RED as my other color.
The sponsor this week is A Perfect Presentation where they have some fantastic templates & the winner of the challenge will get to choose a template from their store!

I got to choose one of them & I choose this super cute sleigh.
Santa's sleigh.
Magnolia Santa, that is!
hee hee
This is what the sides look like , the other side is 'sans Santa'.
I bet you are wondering how he's standing right.
Well, I left some paper at his feet, which the pictures below depict, & some paper at his hand that is leaning on the sleigh. I folded the paper down behind his hand & then added the same color paper (as the sleigh) to the white parts that showed. So it looks like he's leaning right against his sleigh right!?>!> Then I pasted him there. Permanently.
Cool I know!
The feet, well that isn't so cool, I'm just hiding the white parts on the feet by the presents.

See, Santa is standing with paper folded sideways, like so!
No magic!
I added some white fleecy fluff to the inside of the sleigh, cuz Santa needs to be comfortable you know.

I JUST, JUST, just got this tag die cut  from Whimsy in the mail on Monday, with the help of a Whimsy gift cert I won from a challenge. Now I have a little gift card holder come Christmas time.

Pls head over the CSAYL  blog for some more great inspiration from the rest of the team.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day & some Candy

First of all..........Here's a pic of my 15 month old......just showing you what kinda trouble he is getting into already. The toybox; he climbed in on his own.....wearing his brother's monster truck ear protectors.....oiy!

***************************************

Second of all.......... the candy is not mine..........the candy belongs to the Prairie Fairy. She has some YUMMY, SCRUMMY, DELIS-IOSO candy up for grabs HERE until June 19 !
NOW if she makes 1000 followers before then (she's only 2 people away), she is going to double, possibly triple the prize of the candy........heck she may even throw in a couple extra goody bags just for fun!! So head on over and see what all the fuss is all about.........(Pic of her candy is on my sidebar).  PLUS......she has some awesome new releases in her store, previewed on her blog, like the one on my card below!

Lastly, was that picture on top not the perfect lead into a Father's Day card??
I see Father's Day Challenges all over blogland & thought maybe I should get my arse in gear & get one made for my hubby from the kids.
I am using the newly released image from Prairie Fairy Designs called Harley Boy. Yup, it's Lewis!!  Isn't he the cutest thing EVA!!
I use my Wander Basic Grey Paper Pack to complete my card.
Sentiment in the frame is from Tickled Pink Stamps (ps- this link is for the inspiration blog cuz the TP store is currently down for maintenance). Accessory stamps are from Tickled Pink & Whimsy.
The meshy green lacey ribbon at the bottom of the card was a gift from a fellow fairy, Suzi! TY!
